Frequently Asked Questions

  • A qualified social worker that has undertaken additional rigorous training to specialise in mental health, including assessment, intervention, and therapy.

As an accredited mental health social worker I am able to offer services under the Medicare Better Access Scheme, with a current Mental health care plan from your GP, psychiatrist or pediatrician. On a MHCP you can access up to 10 sessions per calendar year and 3 sessions for non directive pregnancy counselling.

  • You do not need a referral for private or NDIS appointments.

A GP/Pediatrician referral and valid Mental Health Care Plan are required if you wish to claim Medicare rebates.

Getting started is simple. Reach out through the contact form or schedule a call—i’ll walk you through the next steps and answer any questions along the way.

  • NDIS sessions focus on capacity building and functional skill development linked to participant goals, while Medicare sessions focus on the treatment of diagnosable mental health conditions.

  • The first session focuses on understanding your concerns, goals and context. We will explore what support may be helpful and determine whether we are a good fit to work together.

When working with children it is essential that the first session be a parent/caregiver session so that I can gather as much information that will help us come up with the most appropriate support plan.

  • I support children from the age of 3 years as part of NDIS early intervention and 4 years for mental health. I also support adolescents, parents and adults, including specialised perinatal mental health support.

  • Collaborative, genuine, and Empathetic. I am here to guide the process, bring ideas to the table, and empower you to live a meaningful life.

I tailor all support services to align with your strengths and interests and often use creativity, art, play and humor (where appropriate) to support positive engagement.

Working with children means getting to know the whole family and their systems. This approach strengthens positive outcomes and connections.
